Madinah is home to many places connected to the life of the Prophet ﷺ. Most Umrah and Hajj packages include guided Ziyarat, and knowing the main sites helps you make the most of your time.
Masjid Quba
Masjid Quba is regarded as the first mosque in Islam and is a highlight of every Ziyarat tour. Many pilgrims perform wudu at their hotel and pray two rak'ahs here.
Mount Uhud and the martyrs' cemetery
Mount Uhud was the site of the Battle of Uhud, and the nearby cemetery is where many companions who were martyred are buried. Visitors pause here to reflect and make dua.
Masjid Qiblatain and the Seven Mosques
Masjid Qiblatain is where the direction of prayer was changed from Jerusalem to the Kaaba. The Seven Mosques area marks the site of the Battle of the Trench.
Planning your Madinah stay
Plan at least three to four days in Madinah so you can pray in Masjid an-Nabawi and complete Ziyarat without rushing. Opening hours and access to some sites can change, so your guide will confirm the current arrangements on the day.
